Dear Diary,

Okay, I'll be honest here. I'm not really sure how to begin writing in these things. My grandma got me this journal thing before we left the Islands because she thought it might be nice for me to record what happened in University. To quote her directly, she said;

"I wish I had written down some the events that happened during my time there, I was a wild child."

Though the image is slightly mentally scarring, I think she might be right. This is going to be a new chapter in my life, and being able to keep the memories with me might be nice...

I guess I should start off with a few things about me?

Well, my name is Kairi and for as long as I can remember, I've been living in Destiny Islands. And when I say "As long as I can remember" I mean "As long as I can remember"

You see, I don't remember any of my childhood before around eight years old. Nothing at all. The only thing I do remember, is waking up in a bed with my Grandma beside me. She told me she found me on the beach, sort of just washed up there I guess. But before that, my memory is blank.

My Grandma took me in and brought me to the orphanage she was the owner of after she found me. I had a couple cuts and scrapes on me so she fixed those up and then brought me to the kitchen to be fed since it'd been a while. I remember meeting a few of the other kids, and they were all nice to me.

There, I found two of my best friends who would turn out to be my brothers. Well, more like, I found them and brought them to Grandma, then we ended up living together for years. Because it was an orphanage, we saw a lot of kids come and go. Some were adopted, some were found and brought back to their parents. Sora, Riku and I ended up staying together somehow. I don't regret it at all, they're the best brothers a girl could ask for.

Somewhere in between all that, I met another one of my best friends. His name is Zexion, and he's... well, he's really quiet once you first meet him. It took a little while for him to open up for me, but ever since we've been really great friends. I'd consider him more like a brother just like Sora and Riku. Without those three, I'd definitely be lost!

High School with the boys was great, we had a pretty alright time as long as we were together. Being on an island, there weren't many kids who stay all season since most people only come for vacation. We just recently graduated and sent in applications for University. I've been waiting for a while to get my acceptance letter and I kinda got nervous because I know my Science grades sucked even though I had a bit of help from Zex... and well. I got in! And so did my best friends! We're sticking together just like we wanted to.

Moving to Aestus has definitely been different. After living on the Islands for so long, it's going to be weird getting used to a new town. Especially since it's a lot bigger than I expected. Either way, I know I'll be alright. I've got Sora, Riku and Zex here with me, and I'm really excited to meet everyone else who will be in my classes. And my roommates, whenever I get to meet them.

Wow. Roommates. That's kind of weird to say.

I really hope they're nice.

Anyway, I guess that's it for me. Soon this journal should be filled with interesting stories, I'm sure. After all, I'll be here for the next four years!

How am I supposed to end these entries?

I'm just going to go with my name. How does that sound? Of course you're not going to answer me, you're a book. Okay.
